Royal Mail Group
As the sole provider of the Universal Service in the UK, Royal Mail Group delivers a six days a week, one price goes anywhere postal service to more than 29 million addresses across the UK. Its core UK business is the delivery and collection of parcels and letters. It handled over 16 billion items last year and transports mail using planes, trains and vehicles and has the largest UK commercial fleet with around 49,000 vehicles.
Mark Bromhall, Group Road Manager explains why Royal Mail chose Pertemps Driver Training; "With a number of UK suppliers we wanted to move to a one stop shop and Pertemps Driver Training met our needs. We have over 90,000 Drivers and required simple access to request training and wanted it delivered timely. Pertemps have done that extremely successfully and we are very pleased to have them as a partner. We have been on a journey now for nearly 3 years and in doing so have developed many bespoke training solutions for our Drivers. RMG and Pertemps have a great working relationship and we regularly review service and are always looking to improve and introduce new products that are jointly developed. I am pleased to say that with the support of Pertemps, RMG has seen a reduction in collision rates since the start of the contract".
At the outset of the contract, Pertemps designed a dedicated on-line booking portal for RMG. Across the business, managers are able to request Driver Training from a portfolio of over 50 courses that have been specifically developed for the company.
Samantha Earl, General Manager of Pertemps Driver Training explains; "We realised at the outset that setting up the UK's largest fully managed service for Driver Training was not going to be an easy task. We have invested heavily into our systems and indeed have the resource to provide a truly fantastic service - from booking to actual delivery always falls well within our KPI's and I know that this is something RMG required to ensure they have adequate resource on the road providing the service to their customers. As a supplier we have been able to work with RMG and have jointly designed training interventions and campaigns. We really are not a tick box company and feel proud of our achievement in supporting our joint quest to improve road safety. Having just delivered our 30,000th course for RMG we are naturally delighted to be working as a partner with the Royal Mail Group".
